The aboriginals had no written language. Instead, they used symbols (like the Maori's). Their symbols are on nearly all of their artwork and are used in dreamtime stories.

Their type of stories were/are called dreamtime stories. They tell dreamtime stories to pass on imperative knowledge, cultural values, traditions and rules. It also focused on explaining how the world came into existence and taught the kids their culture and to behave. Some examples of stories are The Rainbow Serpent, The Seven Sisters, Tiddalick The Frog, Djabala (Jack Dale), How The Kangaroos Got Their Tails and many more.

INTERESTING FACT:

Every aboriginal person believes in the dreamtime stories.
